Michael Jackson Really Liked Drugs

Sources have apparently told TMZ that an extremely potent drug used for surgical anesthesia was found at Michael Jackson's house after his death on Thursday. Could this be the drug that caused his death?

TMZ is reporting that the drug discovered at Jackson’s residence was Propofol, a drug used to put people under anesthesia before a surgical operation. Propofol is known to be a very powerful drug that is only available to medical personnel.

The drug can only be administered with an IV and is usually used with Lidocaine to reduce the burning pain associated with the Propofol injection. As TMZ first reported, Lidocaine was initially found near Jackson's body.

One of the rare, but major side effects of Propofol is called Propofol infusion syndrome, which can cause cardiac arrest if taken in combination with narcotic painkillers. High-dose Propofol is also so powerful that it has been known to be able to stop someone's heart all by itself.

TMZ is also reporting that a registered nurse has come out and said that Jackson begged her for the drug Propofol for insomnia, but she declined to supply it. TMZ also went on to say that if a doctor facilitated the drug for Jackson and it caused his death, he or she could be prosecuted for manslaughter.
